Cristina's Meet and Greet at Living Spaces in La Mirada, California raises $10,000 for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Fans lined up to see her Casa Cristina™ Home Furnishings collection and to ask Cristina to help make their ‘dreams’ come true
La Mirada, CA. Oct. 19, 2007 – Emmy-Award® winning journalist Cristina Saralegui, host and executive producer of the top rated “The Cristina Show” on Univision, met with fans at the Living Spaces store in La Mirada, California on Friday, October 19, where she presented her Casa Cristina™ home furnishings collection.
In addition, to commemorate Cristina’s visit, Living Spaces and Cristina presented a check for $10,000 to The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). HSF is the nation’s leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. HSF’s vision is to strengthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans. Founded in 1975 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, HSF has provided the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. Gary Jimenez, Director of HSF Southern California Region and Alejandro Tinajero, Program Director accepted the donation on behalf of HSF.
Fans had the opportunity to meet Cristina, get their photos taken with her and hand her their “Dreaming with You,” forms, where each wrote down their biggest dream and asked Cristina’s help to make it come true. Every three months, Cristina tapes a “Dreaming with You” program, which is devoted entirely to fulfilling people’s dreams. “Dreaming of You” guests appear on her program and are often selected from the thousands of forms submitted during her personal appearances.
Prior to the autograph signing session, Cristina was welcomed to Living Spaces by CEO Grover Geiselman, who presided over the presentation and ribbon-cutting ceremony. On hand for the ceremony, were Living Spaces executives, VIPs as well as winners of a radio contest who received a private meet and greet with Cristina.
Fans also had the opportunity to see the Casa Cristina™ collection at Living Spaces which includes furniture, home accessories, lamps and mattresses. They were welcomed with music, food and entertainment as well as hourly raffles for gift coupons, which can be used to purchase Casa Cristina™ items at Living Spaces.
