Introducing our exquisite Condesa collection

If you've ever gazed longingly at those inviting, perfectly made beds in home décor magazines and wondered, “could I make my bed look like that?” the answer is “yes”.

But rest easy - making the bed properly is easier than you think. Follow these simple steps and you'll have a bed that's as comfortable as it is gorgeous.

Flat Sheet

Bed Basics:

  • Mattress cover - quilted or plush for extra comfort and protecting mattress.*
  • Flat sheet (Casa Cristina™ Condesa sheets pictured right)
  • Fitted sheet
  • Pillow cases*
  • Comforter, duvet or bedspread

*add hypo-allergenic cases if allergies are an issue

Between the Sheets

Bottom Sheet

  • If you're using a fitted sheet there's no room for error - elasticized corners hold it snugly in place.
  • If you're using a flat sheet as the bottom sheet click here to follow easy steps for perfect hospital corners.

Top Sheet

  • Center flat sheet over the mattress, leaving about 15” on all sides. The deeper finished hem goes at the head.
  • The print or pattern of the top sheet is placed down, so that the pattern is visible when folded back over the blanket or comforter at head of bed.
  • Follow the same steps for the top sheet as for a flat bottom sheet regarding corners for the foot of the bed only. Fold top back below the pillow area and tuck under mattress.

Hint: Do iron the top sheet. It will look crisp folded over the blanket or comforter and will feel great when you slip into bed.

Blanket Statement

  • Place blanket on top of top sheet and tuck in blanket and sheet together following the steps above.

Flat Sheet Pillow Talk

  • Place bed pillows into cases and position them at the head of the bed. Lie flat, or prop multiples up against the headboard.
  • Pillow Shams (Casa Cristina™ Condesa shams pictured left) are decorative pillow cases for extra pillows that add a finishing touch to the bed.

Hint: Pillows don't last forever. Synthetic pillows can be washed, but they should be replaced every year or two; down can last 5 to 10 years.

The Great Cover Up

Bedspreads and coverlets are generally lighter in weight and more formal, while comforters and duvets have a loftier weight and appear more “plush”. (Casa Cristina™ Condesa coverlet pictured below)

Flat Sheet Bedspreads

  • Place bedspread on bed, leaving ample amount at the head.
  • At the head of the bed, fold bedspread back towards foot of bed under where the pillows will sit.
  • Lay pillows on top of the folded section
  • Fold the bedspread back over them, tucking neatly under the back of the pillows.
  • Add decorative pillows if desired.

Comforters

  • Place on bed, leaving ample amount (about 18”) at head to fold back below pillow area.
  • If you want to show off attractive, coordinating sheets, fold back both comforter and top sheet so that top sheet is visible.
  • Or, cover entire bed and pillows with comforter; add decorative pillows with shams and boudoir pillows on top.
